The Project Story
This Isleworth project was a mix of front and rear transformation, but done in a way that still respects the original character of the home. The goal wasn’t to completely change the look — it was more about refining it, making everything feel sharper, more modern, and better put together.
At the front, the client wanted a proper entrance that felt solid and welcoming rather than just functional. At the rear, it was all about improving light, access to the garden, and making the new extension feel like a natural part of the house rather than an add-on.
What We Had to Solve
One of the main challenges here was tying two different areas of the property together — the porch at the front and the new extension at the back — without them feeling disconnected.
The porch needed to feel strong and symmetrical, especially with the gable design, while still letting in light. At the same time, privacy was important, which is where the side panels came into play.
At the rear, the challenge was more about proportions and performance. The client wanted larger openings and better light flow, but without compromising on insulation, security, or the overall look of the extension.
How We Delivered
For the porch, we installed a uPVC gable window above the entrance to maximise natural light and highlight the shape of the roofline. This works really well in combination with the Monzo composite front door, which brings a more solid, high-end feel to the entrance.
We added two matching side panels with satin frost glass, giving privacy without blocking light — a small detail, but it makes a big difference in how the entrance feels from both inside and out.
At the rear extension, we fitted three uPVC casement windows, keeping the design simple and clean to suit the brickwork. The main feature, though, is the oversized Cortizo aluminium bi-folding doors, which open up the entire space to the garden and completely change how the room is used.
All glazing was done using toughened Pilkington argon-filled A+ rated sealed units, machine-finished for consistency and performance. We also fitted full Yale locking systems throughout, keeping security in line with the quality of the installation.
The Final Result
The finished result feels balanced from front to back. The new porch gives the house a much stronger first impression — it looks more complete, more thought-out, and just generally more premium.
At the rear, the extension now feels bright, open, and properly connected to the garden. The bi-fold doors bring in a huge amount of natural light, while the windows keep everything consistent and clean.
It’s one of those projects where nothing feels overdone — just well executed. Everything works together, from the entrance to the extension, creating a home that feels more modern, more comfortable, and noticeably better to live in.
